KACI Platform
The Cancer Data Platform for the AI Era.
Proven cancer registry workflow. Modern AI augmentation. One platform.
NeuralFrame combines the KACI registry workflow your Oncology Data Specialists trust with a new AI layer that reconciles findings across pathology, imaging, and clinical data, producing the reportable values your registry actually needs. From casefinding today to the complete abstract tomorrow, KACI is the single system for cancer programs navigating accreditation, staffing, and research all at once.
For cancer program leadership: registrar throughput without adding headcount.
Automation-Assisted Abstraction & Real-Time Edits.
- KACI’s streamlined ODS interface automatically identifies edits. All validation errors display field requirements instantly—no more manual PDF searching. Integrated CoC, SEER, and NAACCR guidelines are linked to every field.
- Standard-setter guidelines are integrated directly inside the app, and linked to each field in the Abstract, so ODS’s can pull them up with a single click.
- Add custom fields to capture facility-specific information beyond the standard-setter requirements.
For CoC accreditation leads: zero lag between guideline changes and your workflow.
Current with Standard Setters
- NeuralFrame monitors the websites of the standard setters and accrediting bodies and updates form, processes, and clickable guidelines within days of published changes.
For cancer program administrators: one-click CoC, SEER, and NAACCR reporting without IT tickets.
Ready-to-Submit Accreditation Reporting (CoC, SEER, and More!)
- Generate hundreds of standard cancer registry reports with one click. Unlike legacy systems, KACI allows you to build custom pivot tables and multi-facility drilldowns directly within the app.
- Copy and create custom reports with rollups & drilldowns, subtotals, and pivot tables. Allow access to your custom reports at the organization, facility, or individual user level.
For multi-site cancer programs: one registry view across every hospital in your network.
Multi-Facility
- KACI offers clinicians a comprehensive view of patient diagnoses and treatments across your multi-facility organization. Views by single facility, multi-facility, or in aggregate are available with a few keystrokes.
- ODS’s can quickly compare and copy case data and text from one facility to another.
For CQOs and Chief AI Officers: every change, every user, every AI-assisted value, fully audited.
Internal Auditing
- Use standard or customized dashboards and reports to track internal workflow assignments and performance metrics.
- Track every change, automated or manual, to every record in your cancer registry.
For CMIOs and IT leadership: no servers, no version lag, AD/SSO on day one.
Zero-Maintenance SaaS Platform
- KACI eliminates on-premises server costs. Updates are deployed automatically, ensuring you are never behind on Standard Setter changes. Active Directory / SSO integration is standard.
- As part of the onboarding process, KACI connects to your hospital’s active directory server, eliminating user credentialing costs.
- KACI Updates are deployed at no cost to all customers on a regular basis, up to twice per week, deployed automatically within a few seconds and with minimal user disruption.
For IT security review: SOC 2 Type II audited annually, HIPAA Seal of Compliance.
Security
- NeuralFrame conducts annual SOC 2 Type II security audits which provide third-party validation of our rigorous security practices and adherence to industry standards stipulated by the AICPA.
- We have received the HIPAA seal of Compliance from the Compliancy Group, an independent HIPAA compliance solutions company.
Stress-Free Transition
- NeuralFrame handles the conversion of your NAACCR, CoC, and SEER required fields from legacy systems, with guidance at every stage. Cutover happens over a weekend, with minimal downtime and limited disruption.
- One recent customer consolidated ten hospitals, two legacy registry vendors, and six databases into a single KACI system, from kickoff to go-live in under two months.
Outstanding Service
- NeuralFrame provides a five-part training program covering system management, casefinding, abstracting, follow-up, and custom reporting — taught by people who know cancer registry work, not just software.
- Detailed documentation gets your team to full productivity within days, not months.
- Your CSM is a real person at NeuralFrame, not a ticket queue.
Never Miss a Reportable Case, At Any Volume.
Real-time pathology ingestion. Cancer-trained casefinding. Your registrar workflow, in minutes not weeks.
KACI ePath ingests your HL7v2 pathology stream as it arrives, applies cancer-trained casefinding logic, and surfaces reportable candidates into the registrar workflow within minutes — not weekly batches. Developed in partnership with a leading NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, and built for pathology today, extending to radiology, systemic treatment, and radiation oncology as your cancer program grows.
KACI ePath includes:
Cost Savings
- Cost and time savings. Far less cost than competitive products, and we never hold your data hostage.
Data Processing
- Process data at your convenience. Utilize the latest HL7 v2 data standards. Event triggers are sent when you want, with post-processing to the state health department as needed.
Data Standards
- Choose your data standard. If HL7 doesn’t work for you, we can also handle NAACCR v5 XML formatting.
Security You Know and Trust
- Security comes standard. NeuralFrame undergoes annual third-party SOC 2 Type 2 and HIPAA audits to ensure security and compliance.
Every Pathology Report, Read for Reportability in Real Time.
HL7v2 ORU messages analyzed the moment they post, with every candidate case surfaced to your registrar workflow.
KACI’s pathology casefinding reads every HL7v2 ORU pathology message as it arrives from your EHR — not in weekly batches. Cancer-trained rules evaluate diagnostic terms and negation phrases in real time, flag candidate reportable cases, and surface them into the registrar workflow within minutes. Every match is logged with its source document for audit.
Integration and Requirements
-
- KACI seamlessly integrates with the Customer’s Pathology Reporting System via HL7 v2 messaging. KACI receives ORU messages from the Pathology Reporting System over HTTPS. Once received, each ORU message is surveyed for cancer-related pathology data. If found, the message is then displayed as a “Medical Record” inside KACI’s Coding Portal.
- HL7 v2 is the preferred message format.
- KACI supports real-time processing of ORU messages.
- All communications occur over secure HTTPS connections.
Casefinding & Data Processing
- Automated Casefinding: KACI analyzes incoming pathology reports using its casefinding algorithm, evaluating diagnostic terms and negation phrases.
- Configurable Rules: The system allows customization of casefinding rules to meet either standard or customer-specific reportability criteria. Customers can define the OBX 3.1 segments to be scanned for relevant cancer-related keywords. Both the list of OBX 3.1 segments and the associated cancer keywords can be updated in real-time, enabling seamless adjustments to the casefinding process as needed.
- Data Retention: All incoming pathology reports are stored in their original format within KACI for auditing purposes.
System Features
- Patient Attribution of Medical Records: Each pathology report is automatically tied to the corresponding patient within KACI, ensuring accurate and efficient tracking.
- Case Management & Updates: Using its powerful matching feature, KACI either creates a suspense case for a new patient or attaches the newly received medical record to an existing patient, streamlining case management.
- Alerts & Notifications: KACI’s Case Management View displays alerts that notify users of newly created medical records and suspense cases generated via the HL7 pathology interface.
- Integrated Review Panel: The ODS can view the Medical Records Panel, which presents pathology report data within the KACI Coding Portal. This integration allows for quick review, accurate coding of abstracts, and easy transfer of relevant pathology text into the abstract via copy-paste.
- Enhanced Pathology Report Review: Key cancer-related terms are highlighted for quick identification, while negation phrases are also flagged, facilitating a faster and more efficient review process.
